Senior Legal Counsel – Regulatory Investigations

About the role

Join TikTok’s European Online Safety Investigations team as a Senior Legal Counsel, guiding the company through complex regulatory enforcement and investigations related to digital safety across the EU and UK. You will work closely with regulators, internal stakeholders, and senior executives to ensure compliance with fast‑evolving laws such as the Digital Services Act and the Online Safety Act.

Key responsibilities

• Lead strategy and execution of regulatory enforcement and investigations with European and national regulators.
• Support broader digital regulatory matters, focusing on enforcement processes under the Digital Services Act, Online Safety Act, and upcoming EU/UK regulations.
• Advise internal teams on online safety and content enforcement issues.
• Contribute to governance and policy programs for online safety and content regulation.

Required profile

• Significant post‑qualification experience in regulatory legal compliance, either in a top private practice or an established in‑house function.
• Background in consumer‑facing tech or digital media, or strong understanding of these sectors.
• Proven experience advising on user‑generated content laws, especially the Digital Services Act (EU) and Online Safety Act (UK).
• Ability to manage high‑profile, multi‑jurisdictional investigations and navigate ambiguous regulatory environments.
• Experience implementing new laws and handling regulatory disputes.
• High ethical standards, professional integrity, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
