About the role
Our client, a fast‑growing engineering consultancy in Warwick, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead product development across consumer, transport and medical sectors. The role offers the chance to take technical ownership from concept through to launch while mentoring junior engineers.
Key responsibilities
- Act as technical lead on a variety of product development projects.
- Manage and support junior engineering team members.
- Collaborate with designers, electronics and software engineers in multidisciplinary teams.
- Lead projects from concept, design and prototyping to final product launch.
- Control project budgets, schedules and commercial aspects.
- Liaise with clients and present technical solutions.
- Design mechanisms, create mathematical models and develop prototype solutions.
- Build and test prototypes using workshop and laboratory facilities.
- Contribute to novel IP creation and improve manufacturability and performance.
Required profile
- 1st or Upper 2nd class degree in Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
- Strong product design and development experience in a consultancy or engineering environment.
- Proven track record of delivering successful engineering projects and managing client relationships.
- Excellent communication, presentation and project management skills.
- Ability to mentor junior engineers and work autonomously in a dynamic setting.
- Eligibility to work in the UK and willingness to work from the Warwick office.
Required skills
- Experience with CAE tools and computational techniques.
- Knowledge of a wide range of manufacturing processes and materials.
- Experience in low‑volume rapid prototyping and high‑volume processes such as injection moulding.
- Mechanism design, mathematical modelling and prototype testing.
