About the role
We are partnering with a market‑leading manufacturer in the packaging sector to find a Senior National Account Manager. You will drive profitable national sales growth by acquiring new customers, expanding existing accounts, and aligning sales and marketing strategies with business objectives.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver sustainable national sales growth through new customer acquisition and account expansion.
- Build and manage a strong sales pipeline, converting qualified opportunities into profitable contracts.
- Negotiate commercial agreements in line with company margins and strategic goals.
- Set, monitor, and achieve agreed sales targets and KPIs.
- Identify new market opportunities, channels, and applications for long‑term growth.
- Coach and support sales colleagues to influence overall sales activity.
- Analyse sales performance data to highlight trends, risks, and growth areas.
- Collaborate with Finance, Planning, Production, and Senior Leadership to align sales with operational capability.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, including sales processes and new product development input.
- Represent the business at customer meetings, networking events, and industry forums.
- Ensure compliance with HSE requirements, BRC standards, and company policies.
Required profile
- Proven senior sales or business development experience managing national customer portfolios.
- Background in FMCG, manufacturing, packaging, or regulated environments.
- Strong commercial acumen with a track record of sales growth and contract negotiation.
- Excellent communication, influencing, and relationship‑building abilities.
- Analytical skills with experience interpreting sales data and performance reports.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Leadership experience coaching or guiding colleagues.
- Confidence operating cross‑functionally in a manufacturing or commercial setting.
