Senior or Lead Engineer – Offshore & Subsea Projects

About the role

Subco Engineering is looking for experienced engineers to join its Newcastle team as either Senior Engineer or Lead Engineer. You will work on complex offshore, subsea, nuclear and defence projects, delivering high‑quality engineering solutions from concept to detailed design.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engineering projects from kickoff to close‑out, managing budgets and quality requirements.
• Lead client communication, design reviews and technical decision‑making.
• Produce, check and review calculations, drawings, analyses and technical reports.
• Resolve technical and delivery challenges while mentoring graduate and mechanical engineers.
• Improve engineering standards, templates, calculations and quality systems.

Required profile

• Degree‑qualified engineer in a relevant discipline with experience delivering mechanical or multidisciplinary projects.
• Strong capability in calculations, analysis, CAD, drawings and technical documentation.
• Good knowledge of engineering design principles, design codes, materials and manufacturing methods.
• Experience working directly with clients, engineers and contractors.
• Chartered Engineer status preferred, or working towards it.

Required skills

• Standards: DNV, LR, ABS, BV, Eurocodes, ASME.
• Software: Inventor, AutoCAD, Ansys Workbench, STAAD Pro, CAESAR II, Orcaflex, Hydrosym, Hydroman, Mathcad.
