Senior Pensions Actuary

About the role

Gallagher Benefit Services is seeking a Senior Pensions Actuary to join its UK Financial Consulting team. In this senior consulting position you will advise sponsors and trustees of defined‑benefit pension schemes, delivering strategic actuarial solutions and supporting the growth of the corporate actuarial offering.

Key responsibilities

• Own and develop key client relationships, acting as a trusted adviser to sponsors and trustees.
• Lead complex actuarial projects from strategy through execution, providing advice on funding, risk management and pension strategy.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities, leveraging Gallagher’s broking relationships and wider network.
• Support and lead client pitches, contributing to practice growth.
• Mentor junior colleagues and help shape the corporate actuarial team.
• Represent Gallagher at industry seminars and client meetings.
• Conduct peer reviews and ensure compliance with professional standards.

Required profile

• Qualified actuary (FIA or FFA) with extensive experience in pensions actuarial work.
• Proven ability to manage client relationships and deliver high‑quality consulting projects.
• Experience with defined‑benefit pension scheme actuarial advice, funding and risk management.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
