Senior Planner – Hybrid role in Bristol/Cardiff

About the role

This is a hybrid Senior Planner position with a leading main contractor operating across the South West of England. You will own the planning function for multiple new‑build projects, managing your own diary while supporting delivery from pre‑construction through to handover.

Key responsibilities

• Lead planning and programming for several construction projects in Bristol, Cardiff and Gloucester.
• Develop, maintain and update detailed project programmes from tender stage to completion using Asta Powerproject.
• Monitor progress, identify risks and opportunities, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with project managers, site teams, commercial teams and subcontractors to ensure planning accuracy.
• Support bid and tender teams with programme input and sequencing.
• Conduct regular site visits to verify progress and programme compliance.
• Prepare and present progress reports, critical‑path analysis and programme updates to stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Planner or Senior Planner within the UK main‑contracting sector.
• Strong background in new‑build projects across commercial, residential, education, healthcare or mixed‑use sectors.
• Ability to work independently in a hybrid environment and travel regularly across the South West.
• Full UK driving licence.

• Knowledge of NEC / JCT contract frameworks
