Senior Platform Engineer – DevSecOps (UK)

About the role

Second Front Systems is looking for a senior platform engineer to lead the design, deployment and scaling of its Game Warden platform for UK defence and government customers. You will work remotely from anywhere in the UK while collaborating closely with security teams, government partners and internal product groups.

Key responsibilities

• Support the security and operation of Game Warden in air‑gapped and classified environments, liaising directly with government stakeholders.
• Design, build and maintain CI/CD pipelines that embed DevSecOps best practices from code to production.
• Implement and manage SIEM, monitoring and observability tooling to ensure compliance with MOD and NCSC standards.
• Develop scalable, secure cloud infrastructure using Kubernetes and Pulumi (Go‑based) on AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Document infrastructure, procedures and deployment processes to enable repeatable, auditable releases.

Required profile

• 5‑7+ years of experience in DevSecOps, systems engineering and software development.
• Proven expertise designing cloud‑native platforms on AWS, Azure or GCP and operating Kubernetes clusters.
• Hands‑on experience with secure deployments in air‑gapped or classified settings.
• Active or eligible Developed Vetting (DV) clearance and UK nationality.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with a focus on thorough documentation.
