Senior Project Controller

About the role

The Senior Project Controller will act as the financial lead for a portfolio of large‑scale infrastructure projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and profitably. Working closely with project managers and operational leaders, you will provide commercial insight and governance that drives performance and strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Own financial performance of multiple large‑scale projects from contract award to completion.
• Produce and maintain robust forecasts, budgets, cost control and profitability analyses.
• Partner with Project Managers and operational leaders to influence commercial decisions and optimise project outcomes.
• Identify financial risks and opportunities, delivering proactive solutions.
• Monitor cash flow, revenue recognition, working capital and project margins.
• Ensure best‑in‑class financial governance, controls and compliance across the portfolio.
• Support contract reviews, change management and commercial negotiations.
• Deliver insightful financial analysis and reporting for senior leadership.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
• Proven experience as a Project Controller, Project Finance Manager, Commercial Finance Manager or Project Accountant.
• Experience in infrastructure, engineering, EPC, renewable energy, utilities, construction or similar project‑based environments.
• Strong knowledge of project accounting, forecasting, financial modelling and commercial reporting.
• Ability to build relationships and influence cross‑functional teams.
