Senior Project Manager

About the role

Global University Systems is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of capital projects across its higher‑education estate in London. The role oversees refurbishments, new builds, specialist fit‑outs and strategic property acquisitions, ensuring they meet safety, compliance and sustainability standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end delivery of capital projects, from feasibility and test fits through procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.
• Manage design coordination and integration of mechanical, electrical and building services (HVAC, fire, BMS, data and energy solutions).
• Support property acquisitions by conducting technical due diligence, feasibility studies and risk assessments.
• Oversee procurement and contract management in line with JCT/NEC frameworks, including tendering and supplier selection.
• Provide programme reporting, financial tracking and risk management to align projects with strategic objectives.
• Maintain compliance, safety and sustainability best practices and ensure accurate documentation and asset data throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering capital projects, refurbishments and fit‑outs with significant M&E components.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, building services design and statutory compliance.
• Experience managing commissioning, testing and handover of M&E systems.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and reports.
• Demonstrable procurement, contract, financial and programme management skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
