Senior Qualys Engineer – Contract (Inside IR35)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Qualys Engineer to lead the expansion and optimisation of a large‑scale vulnerability management platform for a complex enterprise. The role is UK‑based with hybrid/flexible working and is offered on a 6‑12 month contract, inside IR35.

Key responsibilities

• Expand and optimise the Qualys platform (VMDR, CSAM, WAS) across on‑premise and cloud environments.
• Onboard new environments, improve asset discovery and increase scanning coverage.
• Integrate Qualys with enterprise tools such as ITSM and CMDB platforms.
• Automate workflows using APIs and scripting (Python, PowerShell).
• Produce technical and business‑focused reports and dashboards.
• Support remediation programmes and provide best‑practice guidance.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience with Qualys VMDR and related modules.
• Deep understanding of vulnerability management and asset discovery.
• Extensive networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, routing, VPNs).
• Experience in large‑scale enterprise environments, preferably in regulated sectors.
• Exposure to AWS, Azure or GCP is desirable.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
