Senior Recovery Worker

About the role
Hestia Housing and Support is seeking a Senior Recovery Worker to lead its Ealing Safe Space, Mental Health Crisis Alternative Service. You will work in a hospital‑based, fast‑paced environment, providing expert de‑escalation, risk assessment and coordinated multi‑agency support to people experiencing mental health crises.
Key responsibilities
- Lead a dynamic mental health crisis and early‑intervention service, managing a diverse caseload.
- Conduct robust risk assessments and employ de‑escalation techniques to ensure safety.
- Coordinate multi‑agency support and guide service users toward community services.
- Provide day‑to‑day leadership to Recovery Workers, Peer Support Workers and volunteers.
- Act as shift lead when required, making real‑time decisions to maintain service delivery.
- Support student placements, develop learning plans and deliver reflective supervision.
- Collaborate with Service and Area Managers on performance monitoring, audits and quality reviews.
- Participate in recruitment, onboarding and volunteer integration, and represent the service in partnership forums.
Required profile
- Solid experience supporting people with mental health difficulties, dual diagnosis and complex needs.
- Proven ability to manage complex cases and work collaboratively with a range of services.
- Experience supervising or guiding colleagues, peer workers or students.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, crisis‑focused environment.
