Senior Reporter – Travel

About the role

We are partnering with a fast‑growing UK travel trade media brand to hire a Senior Reporter who will shape the daily news flow for a B2B travel audience. Working primarily from home, you will deliver timely, compelling stories that reach editors’ inboxes and the website each day.

Key responsibilities

• Write accurate, deadline‑driven copy for daily news output.
• Identify, verify and publish breaking travel‑industry news.
• Produce on‑ and off‑diary feature stories.
• Publish articles using WordPress.
• Contribute to the overall editorial agenda.
• Attend and report from travel industry events in the UK and abroad.
• Promote stories across social‑media channels.
• Build and maintain relationships with PR agencies, travel brands and suppliers.
• Craft strong headlines and sharp angles for each piece.

Required profile

• Minimum three years’ experience as a news reporter (essential).
• NCTJ qualification or equivalent.
• Proven ability to write quickly and accurately, including shorthand or short‑form writing.
• Excellent interview skills and a proactive, organised approach.
• Willingness to represent the company at conferences, launches and press trips, including occasional overseas travel.
• Interest in learning about the travel sector.
