Senior SOC Analyst

About the role

Our client is seeking a Senior SOC Analyst to join their security operations team. As a Technical Consultant specialising in Threat Detection, Response & Intelligence, you will lead monitoring, detection and initial response to cyber security threats in a 24x7 SOC environment.

Key responsibilities

• Alert monitoring & triage across client SIEMs, cloud environments and EDR/XDR tools.
• Coordinate initial investigations, containment strategies and major incident escalations.
• Act as senior escalation point on shift, mentor Tier 1/2 analysts and ensure smooth handovers.
• Analyse threat behaviours, refine response playbooks and work with detection engineering to reduce false positives.
• Produce structured incident reports, deliver operational updates and provide insights directly to clients.

Required profile

• Proven background in a 24x7 SOC environment at L2/L3 level.
• Hands‑on experience with major SIEM platforms such as Microsoft Sentinel, QRadar, Splunk or Elastic.
• Strong investigation skills including alert validation, security event analysis and incident triage.
• Experience with EDR/XDR, network security and identity systems to interpret logs across endpoints, networks and cloud.
• Good understanding of incident response workflows and frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK.
• Excellent communication skills for reporting to technical teams and client stakeholders.
• Leadership ability to act as a shift lead and mentor Tier 1/2 analysts.
