Senior Software Engineer – .NET & Cloud Platforms

About the role

AXISCADES is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join its aerospace engineering digital ecosystem in Filton, UK. You will design, develop and maintain enterprise‑scale back‑end services using the latest C# .NET LTS framework and deploy them on the Airbus OpenShift Container Platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement micro‑services and web applications with ASP.NET Core/.NET 8, ensuring high availability and thread safety.
• Package, deploy and manage applications on OpenShift/Kubernetes, writing Dockerfiles and handling Pods, Routes, ConfigMaps and Secrets.
• Architect and optimise complex schemas, stored procedures and queries in Microsoft SQL Server for high‑frequency data ingestion and reporting.
• Integrate Redis for distributed caching to reduce database latency and improve throughput.
• Collaborate with infrastructure teams to build automated CI/CD pipelines for seamless containerised deployments.
• Conduct code reviews, enforce best practices, design patterns and secure coding standards.

Required profile

• 6+ years of professional software development experience.
• Deep understanding of cloud‑native architecture, distributed systems and high‑performance database management.
• Experience delivering aviation‑grade software with strict uptime and security requirements.

Required skills

• Expert‑level proficiency in C#, ASP.NET Core.NET 8+ and Entity Framework Core.
• Hands‑on experience with OpenShift or Kubernetes, Docker, and container lifecycle management.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, T‑SQL, indexing and execution‑plan analysis.
• Experience integrating Redis for caching and session management.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools, version control (Git) and automated testing.
