Senior Systems Accountant

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Systems Accountant to lead the development, optimisation and governance of the finance systems environment centred on NetSuite Financials for a Birmingham‑based not‑for‑profit organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day administration, development and optimisation of NetSuite Financials.
• Act as the organisation's finance systems subject‑matter expert.
• Drive finance systems improvements, automation and digital transformation initiatives.
• Manage systems projects from concept through to successful implementation.
• Develop and maintain financial reporting, dashboards and management information.
• Ensure robust governance, financial controls and data integrity across finance systems.
• Monitor integrations, troubleshoot system issues and provide training and support to users.
• Supervise and develop a junior member of the finance team.
• Collaborate with Finance, IT, operational teams and external software providers to deliver continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Significant experience in a Systems Accountant or finance systems role.
• Strong expertise in NetSuite or another ERP finance system.
• Proven track record delivering finance systems enhancements and transformation projects.
• Good understanding of financial accounting, management accounting and financial controls.
• Experience improving processes, reporting and system functionality.
• Preferably experience within charity, public sector, housing, healthcare or not‑for‑profit organisations.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and stakeholder management abilities.
• Proactive, collaborative leadership style with experience supporting and developing others.

What we offer

• Salary ranging from £65,000 to £75,000 per year, dependent on experience.
