Senior VP - IT Infrastructure Risk and Control

About the role

This senior leadership position will shape risk, governance and control across a major technology function for an international banking group. The role balances strategic evolution with hands‑on execution, reporting directly to executive leadership and influencing board‑level decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Drive a 50/50 mix of strategy and delivery, working with infrastructure product owners to identify, challenge and mitigate risks.
• Govern the Digital Engineering Risk & Control framework, aligning it with technology risk appetite, operational resilience, BCP and regional strategies.
• Produce high‑quality board packs and executive summaries that translate detailed technical risks into concise, decision‑ready insights.
• Partner with product, platform, cyber security, IT risk and internal audit teams to assess risks from new implementations and change activities.
• Manage audits, assurance activities, loss events and control checks across the infrastructure estate.
• Operate initially as a senior individual contributor with the mandate to build and scale a dedicated risk and control team.

Required profile

• Extensive experience managing risk within IT infrastructure environments in financial services or similarly regulated large estates.
• Strong technical credibility to challenge technical teams and product owners effectively.
• Exceptional stakeholder management skills, able to navigate between floor‑level technical details and executive‑level presentations.
• Proven ability to produce clear, high‑impact reporting for senior leadership and risk committees.
