Senior Womenswear Buyer – Fashion Retail

About the role

We are partnering with a fast‑growing, customer‑focused womenswear brand to hire an experienced Buyer who can shape the future of the collection. Based in Manchester, you will work in a collaborative, agile environment where your commercial insight and product passion directly influence the brand’s direction.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver compelling womenswear ranges that balance commercial performance with brand identity.
• Lead strategic range planning, creating balanced assortments that excite customers and maximise sales.
• Own the full buying lifecycle—from concept and sourcing to negotiation, order placement, launch and trading performance.
• Identify product gaps, emerging trends and new opportunities through customer insight, competitor analysis and market research.
• Analyse sales and trading data, reacting quickly to maximise opportunities and minimise risk.
• Partner with Merchandising to manage OTB, seasonal planning, stock management and budget delivery.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, onboarding new factories to support growth.
• Drive commercial negotiations, margin improvement and sustainable sourcing initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a buyer in womenswear or a related fashion category, preferably at senior level.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends.
• Excellent negotiation skills and a track record of delivering margin improvements.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with design, merchandising, marketing and product support teams.
• Self‑starter attitude with the capacity to make autonomous decisions in a fast‑paced environment.
