About the role
This position offers a graduate the chance to work in a vibrant, inclusive school in Newham, supporting young people with special educational needs and social, emotional, and mental health (SEN/SEMH) requirements. You will join an experienced teaching team, gaining hands‑on experience and access to valuable training in education and mental health support.
Key responsibilities
- Assist classroom teachers in delivering lessons and managing daily activities.
- Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support for pupils with SEN/SEMH needs.
- Help adapt curriculum materials to make learning accessible for all students.
- Monitor pupil progress and report observations to senior staff.
- Promote a safe, inclusive environment that encourages student wellbeing.
Required profile
- Degree‑level qualification (any discipline).
- Previous experience working with children, preferably with SEN/SEMH needs.
- Strong interest in pursuing a career in teaching, educational psychology, mental health, or related fields.
