Site Manager

About the role

Watkin Jones is seeking a Site Manager to lead construction improvement and refresh projects valued between £1 million and £15 million. You will oversee daily site activities, ensuring safety, quality and timely delivery while coordinating closely with the Project Manager and Quantity Surveyor.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day site operations and maintain progress against programme deadlines.
• Supervise and coordinate subcontractors, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
• Communicate site instructions, attend coordination meetings and liaise with senior project team members.
• Monitor drawings, plans and budgets to minimise waste and control costs.
• Take on delegated project responsibilities as directed by senior management.

Required profile

• Proven experience in construction or development environments with strong site‑operation knowledge.
• Valid SMSTS and CSCS cards, plus a First Aid certificate.
• Level 3 or 4 qualification (NVQ, Apprenticeship or HNC) in a relevant construction discipline.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
• Competent use of Microsoft Office applications.
