Software Engineering Intern

About the role

As a Software Engineering Intern you will join SPAICE's Infrastructure & Product team to build the tooling that ships autonomy software to real missions. You will work on deployment, testing, and data pipelines that directly impact flight‑grade systems.

Key responsibilities

• Build deployment and release tooling for embedded flight computers and edge‑AI hardware, including cross‑compilation, containerisation, configuration management, and OTA updates.
• Create test and evaluation infrastructure to replay recorded flight data and catch navigation regressions before they reach an aircraft.
• Develop data pipelines that ingest logs and sensor recordings from field trials, aligning timestamps and making each flight searchable and comparable.
• Design internal tools, visualisations, dashboards, CLIs and configuration tooling for engineers and customers.
• Collaborate with autonomy and perception engineers to deliver well‑tested, high‑performance code into HIL/SIL setups and real missions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's student, or recent graduate, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Robotics, Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Solid programming ability in C++ or Python and experience building and debugging software on Linux.
• Exposure to product‑side development such as web front‑ends, APIs, databases or data pipelines.
• Comfortable working with Linux and Git.
• Strong interest in autonomy, robotics, aerospace or space.
