Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant – Leeds

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to support a vibrant primary school in Leeds. You will help children with special needs access the curriculum and thrive in an inclusive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide tailored support to students with SEN, ensuring curriculum access and progress.
• Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and support the class teacher with engaging lessons.
• Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom where all pupils feel valued.
• Collaborate with the SENCO, teachers, and support staff to monitor and report on student progress.
• Engage with parents and carers, providing updates and addressing concerns.

Required profile

• Previous experience in an educational setting, preferably with SEN pupils.
• Patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting students.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Flexibility to work in supply, short‑term, and potentially long‑term cover roles.
