About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated part‑time Speech and Language Therapist to join our Specialist Children’s Services team in East Renfrewshire. The role is permanent, based at Barrhead Health and Care Centre, and works within a supportive multidisciplinary environment.
Key responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose and provide therapy for children and young people with speech, language, communication, eating, drinking and swallowing difficulties.
- Plan and deliver specialised therapy programmes tailored to individual needs, including complex cases.
- Manage and prioritise a specialist caseload autonomously, supervising Clinical Support Workers where appropriate.
- Participate in clinical supervision, peer review, operational management and Care Aims processes.
- Review referrals with the SLT Team Leader/Manager and coordinate onward referrals to CAMHS, OT, PT or Educational Psychology.
- Evaluate therapy outcomes using evidence‑based practice and maintain accurate clinical records in line with data protection standards.
Required profile
- Qualified Speech and Language Therapist, registered with the relevant professional body.
- Experience working with children and families in community or specialist settings.
- Ability to manage a specialist caseload independently and work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence‑based practice.
Required skills
- Assessment and diagnosis of speech, language and communication disorders.
- Design and delivery of individualized therapy programmes.
- Use of evidence‑based practice to monitor progress and outcomes.
- Accurate clinical documentation and adherence to confidentiality and data protection regulations.

- Permanent part‑time contract (21.6 hours per week) across Monday‑Wednesday.
