SQL Systems Engineer – Remote

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on SQL Systems Engineer to join the IT team of a leading international law firm. The role focuses on managing and optimising enterprise‑wide Microsoft SQL Server environments that support critical business applications.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and maintain Microsoft SQL Server instances across the firm.
• Troubleshoot performance issues and optimise queries.
• Implement and support high‑availability and disaster‑recovery solutions (AlwaysOn, replication, mirroring, log shipping).
• Support data integrations between firm systems.
• Work with business intelligence tools such as SSIS, SSRS and Power BI.
• Provide database support for applications, including document‑management systems.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA.
• Strong performance‑tuning and troubleshooting abilities.
• Hands‑on experience with HA/DR technologies.
• Familiarity with Azure SQL or other cloud platforms.
• Experience in the legal or professional‑services sector is a plus.
