Staff Nurse – Acute Admissions Unit (AAU)

About the role

Cleveland Clinic London is recruiting a Staff Nurse for its Acute Admissions Unit (AAU). The role involves providing high‑quality nursing care to patients with acute medical or surgical conditions, working a 6‑week rota covering days, nights and weekends.

Key responsibilities

• Provides direct nursing care to patients presenting at the Acute Admissions Unit in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols.
• Triage, prioritize nursing care and recognise deterioration in patient conditions, escalating to senior nurses or consultants immediately.
• Evaluates, updates and revises the plan of care to facilitate achievement of expected outcomes.
• Assesses and coordinates patients' discharge planning needs with members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Carries out additional duties and responsibilities delegated by the senior team.

Required profile

• Nursing Bachelor’s Degree (essential).
• Current registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) with no practice restrictions (essential).
• Demonstrable clinical and leadership experience in an Acute Admissions Unit (essential).
• Willingness to undertake relevant post‑registration courses (essential).
• ILS provider course completed and qualification up to date (desirable).
