Staff Nurse – Redburn Rehabilitation Ward

About the role

The NHS Ayrshire and Arran is seeking a qualified Staff Nurse to join the Redburn Rehabilitation Ward at Ayrshire Central Hospital. This permanent, part‑time position offers 16 hours per week on a busy 20‑bed stroke rehabilitation unit, providing person‑centred care to patients recovering from stroke.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based nursing care to patients on the rehabilitation ward.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective treatment plans.
• Supervise and mentor junior staff and nursing students.
• Maintain accurate patient records and update skills in line with current policies.
• Communicate clearly with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.

Required profile

• Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
• Familiarity with NHS Ayrshire & Arran policies and procedures.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
