Store Designer – Beauty Retail (Freelance)

About the role

We are seeking a Store Designer to support a global beauty client’s travel‑retail department. The role is freelance, 12‑month contract, based in London with a hybrid schedule (three days in‑office, two days remote). The successful candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders to translate brand guidelines into detailed store layouts ready for manufacture.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and adapt store design concepts for travel‑retail locations following brand standards.
• Produce technical drawings and documentation for manufacturing approval.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to obtain design approvals and ensure alignment with project timelines.
• Transition design work from Vectorworks to AutoCAD over the next six months.

Required profile

• Previous experience in beauty or retail store design.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate approvals with stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently on a freelance basis within an IR35 umbrella structure.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Vectorworks.
• Knowledge of SketchUp.
• Experience with AutoCAD (or willingness to learn within six months).
• Technical drawing and detailing for manufacturing.
