Tax Senior Manager

About the role

TPF Recruitment are supporting a highly regarded firm of Chartered Accountants in Newbury, seeking an experienced Tax Senior Manager to join a growing tax team. The role combines personal and corporate tax advisory work with compliance oversight, client relationship management and team development, offering exposure to a broad client base from private individuals to larger corporate groups.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and review personal and corporate tax compliance work.
• Advise clients on a wide range of tax planning matters.
• Provide advice on EMI, EIS, employment‑related securities, ATED and HMRC enquiries.
• Review complex tax affairs for directors, shareholders and high‑net‑worth individuals.
• Act as a senior technical resource for colleagues across the firm.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, becoming a trusted adviser.
• Support, mentor and develop junior members of the tax team.
• Work alongside partners on advisory projects and strategic initiatives.
• Contribute to business development activities and identify opportunities to expand client services.

Required profile

• CTA qualified, or ACA, ACCA or ATT qualified with significant UK tax expertise.
• Strong mixed‑tax background gained within a professional practice environment.
• Proven experience advising owner‑managed businesses and entrepreneurial clients.
• Technically strong across both personal and corporate tax matters.
• Confident managing client relationships and delivering advisory‑led work.
• Experience reviewing work, mentoring team members and supporting staff development.
• Commercially aware with excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
