Teaching Assistant – Alternative Provision (Full‑time)

About the role

We are partnering with an organisation delivering Alternative Provision across the Midlands. The Teaching Assistant will support learners in specialist education settings, helping them achieve academic, emotional and social progress.

Key responsibilities

• Support learners on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
• Promote engagement, attendance and positive behaviour.
• Support emotional regulation and pastoral wellbeing.
• Assist with classroom delivery and learning activities.
• Create a calm, inclusive, and structured environment.
• Support educational visits and enrichment activities.
• Maintain safeguarding and learner welfare standards.
• Build positive, consistent relationships with young people.

Required profile

• Teaching Assistant qualification.
• Experience working within schools or educational settings.
• Experience supporting young people with behavioural, emotional, SEND or additional learning needs.
• Strong ability to break down barriers.
• Desirable: HLTA qualification.
• Desirable: Experience in Alternative Provision or specialist education settings.
• Desirable: Experience delivering interventions or structured activities.
• Desirable: Additional training in SEND, behaviour, or emotional regulation support.
