Teaching Assistant (Level 3) – SEND School, Birmingham

About the role
This full‑time, fixed‑term position supports a secondary‑age SEND school in North Birmingham. You will work closely with a dedicated team of teaching assistants and SEND teachers, providing one‑to‑one and small‑group support to pupils with moderate to complex learning needs.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver 1‑2‑1 and small‑group assistance for students with special educational needs.
- Support whole‑class activities and run tailored group tasks.
- Maintain a positive learning environment and manage student attitudes.
- Collaborate with the SENCO and SEND team to adapt resources.
Required profile
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience.
- Previous experience supporting children with autism, Asperger’s or complex needs.
- Passion for helping pupils overcome educational barriers.
- Valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
Required skills
- Understanding of special educational needs and appropriate support strategies.
