Teaching Assistant – Primary School (KS2)

About the role

Reeson Education is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Salford. The role supports KS2 pupils with a range of SEND and SEMH needs, delivering one‑to‑one and small‑group interventions while fostering a positive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support KS2 pupils with SEND and SEMH needs within the classroom and during targeted interventions.
• Provide one‑to‑one assistance and small‑group sessions to promote progress.
• Adapt learning resources to meet individual pupil requirements.
• Encourage positive behaviour, engagement and emotional regulation.
• Collaborate closely with class teachers, SENCOs and pastoral staff.
• Support pupils during lessons, breaktimes, transitions and structured interventions.
• Maintain safeguarding procedures and school policies at all times.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Youth Worker or Support Worker.
• Experience supporting children with SEND, SEMH, ASD, ADHD or behavioural needs.
• Strong behaviour management and relationship‑building abilities.
• Patient, resilient and nurturing approach.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

• Full‑time, long‑term contract with potential temp‑to‑perm progression.
• Hourly rate £14.25‑£16.65 (PAYE or Umbrella).
• Working hours 8:30 am‑3:30 pm, Monday‑Friday with a 30‑minute break.
