Teaching Assistant – Primary School (SEND & SEMH)

About the role

Reeson Education is seeking a compassionate Teaching Assistant for a welcoming primary school in Manchester (M9). The role starts in September 2026, with a transition day before term begins to meet pupils, staff and the wider school team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support for pupils with SEND and SEMH needs, primarily two Year 2 pupils.
• Deliver targeted interventions for individuals and small groups.
• Adapt learning activities and resources to meet each pupil’s needs.
• Work flexibly across Year 1 and Year 4 for two afternoons each week.
• Collaborate closely with class teachers, SENDCo and the wider support team.
• Promote emotional regulation, confidence and independence.
• Maintain a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and school policies at all times.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant supporting pupils with SEND.
• Relevant qualifications or training in education or SEND.
• Experience working with neurodivergent children and pupils with SEMH needs.

• Hourly rate of £14.25 – £16.65 (PAYE or Umbrella).
