Teaching Assistant – SEND Support (Full‑Time)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Wythenshawe, Manchester. The role supports pupils with special educational needs (SEND) and works closely with teachers and the SENCO to deliver tailored learning experiences. It is a full‑time, long‑term position starting in September 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support for pupils with ASD, communication difficulties, social and emotional needs.
• Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individualized learning strategies.
• Encourage pupil engagement and independence during classroom activities.
• Adapt teaching resources to ensure curriculum accessibility for all children.
• Offer occasional additional support in Reception when required.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, preferably with SEND pupils.
• Patient, caring and proactive attitude towards children.
• Strong communication skills for building positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Commitment to making learning accessible and enjoyable for every student.
