Teaching Assistant – Special Needs (Supply)

About the role

Join a network of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) schools across Greater Manchester as a supply Teaching Assistant. You will support pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them engage with the curriculum in a safe and inclusive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist classroom teachers in delivering lessons and activities for pupils with SEND or SEMH needs.
• Provide one‑to‑one or small‑group support, adapting approaches to individual requirements.
• Maintain a positive and structured learning atmosphere, encouraging pupil participation.
• Follow safeguarding and health‑and‑safety procedures at all times.
• Record observations and communicate progress to the lead teacher.

Required profile

• Experience supporting children with SEND or SEMH in a school or care setting.
• Patience, resilience and a positive attitude.
• Ability to adapt quickly to different school environments and pupil needs.
