Teaching Assistant – Support Children in Chester

About the role

Randstad Education is recruiting Teaching Assistants for schools in Chester and the surrounding area. The role offers both day‑to‑day supply flexibility and longer‑term placements, allowing you to support pupils individually or in small groups while contributing to an inclusive, engaging learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Work closely with pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups to boost confidence and progress during lessons.
• Provide tailored support for pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) using creative strategies.
• Partner with class teachers and other professionals to review student progress and help set up classroom activities.
• Assist with lunch and break duties to ensure a safe, fun school day.
• Prioritise student well‑being by reporting any concerns directly to the SENCo.

Required profile

• Previous experience working in an education setting or a similar youth‑support role.
• Proven experience supporting children with Additional Learning Needs (ALN).
• Enhanced Child DBS check and EWC Registration (or willingness to obtain both).
• A Level 2 or Level 3 Childcare qualification is highly desirable, though not essential.
