Technical Accounting Manager

About the role

This position sits within a high‑performing Group Finance team of a leading FTSE 100 organisation. The Technical Accounting Manager will provide expert IFRS guidance, support external reporting and drive financial governance across a complex international business. The role is hybrid, requiring two days per week in the London office.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare technical accounting papers and support accounting conclusions on complex transactions.
• Act as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders, delivering expert IFRS guidance.
• Liaise with external auditors and support year‑end and interim reporting processes.
• Implement new accounting standards and develop accounting policies.
• Prepare and review disclosures for half‑year and annual reporting.
• Operate and maintain key SOX controls with robust documentation.
• Support monthly group consolidation, including journal entries and eliminations.
• Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts for head‑office entities.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified accountant.
• Experience in technical accounting, financial reporting, group reporting or external audit, preferably within a Big 4 or top‑10 practice.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and listed‑company reporting requirements.
• Proven ability to analyse and resolve complex accounting issues.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
