Technical Motor Claims Lead (Hybrid, Manchester)

About the role

IPS Group is seeking a senior Technical Motor Claims Lead to join its fast‑growing, tech‑led motor insurer in Manchester. This hybrid role combines hands‑on handling of complex, high‑value motor claims with strategic leadership of the claims transformation agenda.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the technical lead for complex motor claims, including large loss and catastrophic injury cases.
• Provide oversight across the full claims lifecycle from First Notice of Loss (FNOL) to settlement.
• Handle high‑value, technically challenging claims, especially credit hire and personal injury.
• Drive technical standards, best practice and consistency across the claims function.
• Support indemnity spend, reserving strategy and overall claims performance.
• Mentor and develop the claims team as the function expands.
• Contribute to the claims transformation programme, moving capability in‑house and collaborating with product and engineering teams.

Required profile

• Strong background in UK motor claims with deep technical expertise.
• Proven experience handling complex claims, including bodily injury and large loss.
• Extensive knowledge of credit hire, litigation and the end‑to‑end claims process.
• Experience operating within a transformation or change‑focused environment.
