Temporary Scheme Manager / Concierge (Birmingham)

About the role

This part‑time, temporary position provides day‑to‑day management of an independent living scheme for older adults in Birmingham. You will work as a lone worker, ensuring the scheme is safe, compliant and a pleasant place to live.

Key responsibilities

• Make weekly wellbeing calls to residents who opt‑in and conduct settling‑in visits for new occupants.
• Attend resident meetings, address building‑related issues and signpost to appropriate support.
• Perform and record weekly compliance checks, including fire risk assessments and health‑and‑safety inspections.
• Maintain GDPR‑compliant documentation and manage day‑to‑day administration such as housekeeping, ordering supplies and coordinating repairs.
• Inspect the scheme regularly, oversee contractors, and ensure contractual obligations are met.
• Provide cover for absent Scheme Managers and respond to complaints or lease breaches.
• Support property assignments/purchases, including interviewing prospective buyers and liaising with estate agents and solicitors.
• Travel to Midland Heart’s Head Office for training and meetings as required.

Required profile

• Ability to work independently and manage risk, compliance and change.
• Strong communication skills for resident interaction and stakeholder coordination.
• Attention to detail for accurate record‑keeping and compliance reporting.
