Third Engineer (Fleet)

About the role

Stena Line is seeking a Fleet Third Engineer to support engine teams across its vessel fleet. The role offers flexibility with no fixed location, allowing you to work on a variety of ship types while developing new technical skills.

Key responsibilities

• Execute duties assigned by the Chief Engineer or Second Engineer.
• Participate in the vessel’s emergency organisation as required.
• Carry out maintenance in line with the Planned Maintenance Program.
• Follow ship operating and technical procedures.
• Identify and manage risks to the ship, personnel and environment.
• Report incidents, accidents, and equipment deficiencies, especially safety‑related issues.
• Maintain familiarity with the Safety Management System (SMS) and DOCMAP documentation.
• Assist with duties above rank to ensure readiness for higher responsibilities.

Required profile

• Hold a valid 2nd Engineer Certificate of Competency (CoC).
• Accountable to the Chief Engineer and responsible to the Master.
• Willingness to work across different vessel types and locations.
