TP141 Commissioning Engineer – High Voltage (Outside IR35)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced TP141 Commissioning Engineer to join a specialist high‑voltage engineering contractor on two major National Grid transmission projects in East Anglia and Oxfordshire. The contract runs for approximately two years and is outside IR35, offering a competitive day rate.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out commissioning activities on HV transmission substations up to 400 kV.
• Complete primary plant, protection and control commissioning in line with National Grid TP141 procedures.
• Perform functional testing, interlocking checks and support energisation activities.
• Prepare commissioning documentation, test records and hand‑over packs.
• Collaborate with project managers, clients and site teams to ensure safe and efficient programme delivery.
• Travel to project sites in East Anglia or Oxfordshire as required.

Required profile

• Current National Grid TP141 Commissioning Engineer authorisation.
• Proven experience commissioning HV substations within the transmission sector.
• Strong understanding of National Grid commissioning procedures and safety rules.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
