Training Developer – 6‑Month Contract

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Training Developer to join a high‑performing team delivering critical training solutions within a regulated, safety‑focused environment in Cumbria. The role involves the full lifecycle of training material development using a Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) and close collaboration with subject‑matter experts.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse training needs and design effective learning solutions.
• Develop engaging training materials in line with SAT principles.
• Deliver and support training sessions where required.
• Conduct pilot courses, gather feedback and implement improvements.
• Evaluate training effectiveness and enhance content.
• Collaborate with SMEs to validate and refine material.
• Support audits, reviews and compliance activities.
• Coach stakeholders on the use and delivery of training materials.
• Participate in peer reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven background in training design and content development.
• Strong understanding of instructional design methodologies, preferably SAT.
• Experience working in regulated, compliance‑driven or safety‑critical environments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to manage workload independently and meet deadlines.
• Minimum GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grade A‑C / 4‑9) with qualification certificates available at interview.
