Vice President – Front Office Tax Advisory

About the role

Nomura is seeking a Vice President to join its Front Office Tax Advisory team in London. The role provides senior tax advice to the Wholesale Business, supporting Global Markets and Investment Banking activities across EMEA.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary tax advisor to trading desks and investment banking teams, delivering commercially‑focused guidance.
• Identify and assess tax risks and opportunities in existing and proposed trading strategies.
• Perform cross‑border tax analysis on complex multi‑jurisdictional transactions.
• Provide independent tax review and sign‑off for new product approvals and transaction committee decisions.
• Maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders while ensuring robust governance and risk management.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in tax advisory, preferably within a financial services environment.
• Strong commercial judgment and the ability to operate autonomously.
• Proven track record of influencing senior business partners and managing tax risk.
• Willingness to collaborate with global tax teams in Frankfurt, New York, Mumbai, Singapore and Tokyo.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of corporate and cross‑border tax principles.
• Experience with tax governance, risk assessment and product approval processes.
