VP/Director Softs & Agricultural Commodities Trader

About the role

Citi is seeking a senior professional to join its Commodity Derivatives Desk in London as a VP or Director level Softs and Agricultural Commodities Trader. Reporting to the Head of Agriculture Trading, you will provide pricing, market‑making and risk management across a portfolio of softs and agricultural derivatives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide pricing and market‑making services to Citi’s global client franchise.
• Manage risk across a Softs and Agricultural derivatives trading portfolio.
• Deliver market intelligence and insights to the global trading team.
• Build and maintain relationships with key clients and coordinate with Sales, Research, Commodities Management and other market teams.
• Achieve budgeted revenue targets within the defined risk framework.
• Work closely with Legal, Compliance, Market Risk, Credit Risk, Audit and Finance to ensure proper governance.
• Adhere to Citi’s Code of Conduct, supervision plans and maintain required registrations and licences.

Required profile

• 5‑10 years of experience trading softs and/or agricultural commodities.
• Proven track record in agricultural commodities trading, preferably within the dairy sector.
• Undergraduate degree required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for internal and external stakeholder engagement.

Required skills

• Derivatives pricing and trading expertise.
• Advanced analytical and numerical abilities.
• Advanced financial‑market spreadsheet proficiency.
• Knowledge of Bloomberg.
• Familiarity with trade capture and booking systems.
• Understanding of trading protocols and trade lifecycle processes.
