Vulnerability Structural Analysis Engineer Graduate Programme

About the role

Airbus is looking for recent graduates to join a two‑year Global Graduate development journey as Vulnerability Structural Analysis Engineers. You will work on aircraft crash and impact simulations, develop technical expertise, and rotate through several departments to gain a holistic view of aerospace structures.

Key responsibilities

• Perform numerical vulnerability crash and impact analyses (FEA) for aircraft programs and research projects such as bird‑strike and wheel‑debris impacts.
• Utilise advanced simulation tools including Abaqus/Explicit, 3DX and HyperWorks.
• Identify and simulate the physics of aircraft structural behaviour and interpret simulation results.
• Learn about aircraft structure design, certification compliance and in‑service support.
• Gain exposure to related departments such as Research, Design, Materials, Structures Test, Aerodynamics and Manufacturing through at least one rotational placement.

Required profile

• A degree (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Recent graduate or first professional experience in structures analysis.
• Strong verbal and written communication in English.
• Motivation to work collaboratively and drive innovation.
• Self‑awareness and a proactive attitude toward personal development.
• Eligibility to work in the UK and ability to obtain required security clearance.
