Graduate Wing Structures/Systems Installation Engineer

About the role

The Graduate Wing Structures/Systems Installation Engineer programme starts in September 2027 and offers recent Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering graduates a two‑year development journey at Airbus in the Bristol area. You will rotate through key activities, receive structured soft‑skill training and become an integral part of the wing structures and systems installation team.

Key responsibilities

• Perform static stress analysis, from first‑principles calculations to FEM‑based simulations.
• Design wing structures and system installations using CATIA, manage configurations and digital mock‑up (DMU) data.
• Conduct fatigue and damage‑tolerance assessments.
• Develop and automate processes through coding and digitalisation initiatives.
• Complete at least one rotational placement to broaden technical exposure.

Required profile

• Degree (2:1 or higher) in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering, recent graduate or with limited professional experience.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Interest in aerospace, curiosity for innovation and willingness to work in a dynamic environment.

Required skills

• Static stress analysis and FEM simulation.
• Proficiency with CATIA and configuration management tools.
• Understanding of fatigue and damage‑tolerance analysis.
• Basic coding or data‑analysis abilities for process automation.
