Wholesale Account Handler – Commercial Insurance

About the role

Join a well‑established London Market insurance brokerage as a Commercial Account Handler within the Wholesale Commercial team. You will be the primary point of contact for brokers and insurers, delivering high‑quality service and supporting the placement and ongoing management of complex commercial risks.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full life‑cycle of new business and renewal cases, from client engagement to policy issuance.
• Gather and assess client requirements, market risks to insurers, and negotiate terms to secure appropriate cover.
• Prepare documentation such as MRC slips, quotes, endorsements, policy schedules and broker presentations.
• Handle mid‑term adjustments, update records and systems, and ensure accurate client and underwriting data.
• Monitor outstanding cover requirements, liaise with insurers for information or quotations, and maintain compliance in invoicing and communications.
• Maintain pipeline and quote logs, contribute to management information reporting, and stay informed on market developments.
• Support junior colleagues through knowledge sharing and day‑to‑day guidance.

Required profile

• Previous experience in commercial insurance brokerage or underwriting, preferably within the London Market.
• Strong relationship‑building skills with brokers, clients and carriers.
• Ability to manage end‑to‑end placement processes and negotiate effectively.
• Excellent analytical attention to detail and a proactive approach to professional development.
