About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support Year 5 and Year 6 pupils in a forward‑thinking primary school located in the Aston/Witton area of Birmingham. You will work independently with small intervention groups, helping children reach their full potential.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and deliver tailored small‑group interventions for Year 5 and Year 6 students.
- Provide one‑to‑one support for pupils with SEND as required.
- Assist the class teacher with daily lesson preparation and classroom management.
- Monitor and record pupil progress, reporting outcomes to senior staff.
Required profile
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (NVQ or CACHE preferred).
- Recent primary school experience (within the last two years) on Key Stage 2.
- Demonstrated experience supporting pupils with SEND.
- Strong knowledge of the KS2 curriculum.
Required skills
- Excellent understanding of the KS2 curriculum.
- Ability to plan and deliver targeted interventions.
- Effective communication with pupils, teachers and parents.
