1:1 In-Person Secondary Tutor (Yeovil, Somerset)

About the role

Quantum Scholars is seeking caring and reliable tutors to deliver one‑to‑one, in‑person tuition for secondary‑aged pupils in Yeovil and surrounding areas. Sessions take place in the young person’s home or a suitable community setting and are tailored to each learner’s needs, abilities and emotional readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver personalised learning activities for subjects such as English, Maths, Science or Humanities.
• Travel to pupils’ homes or community venues and conduct 1:1 tuition sessions.
• Support core academic skills, boost confidence and help re‑engage learners with education.
• Adapt teaching approaches for pupils with SEND, SEMH, anxiety, EBSA or gaps in learning.
• Maintain brief records of session content, attendance and progress.

Required profile

• Experience working with secondary‑aged students.
• Strong subject knowledge in at least one secondary curriculum area.
• Patient, encouraging and flexible attitude.
• Commitment to safeguarding and positive outcomes for young people.
• Ability to travel within Yeovil and surrounding locations.
