1:1 KS2 SEND Teaching Assistant – Stockport

About the role

This full‑time, temporary position supports a single KS2 pupil with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) in a welcoming primary school in Stockport. The role begins in September 2026 and focuses on delivering consistent, positive behaviour support and a calm, structured learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support a single KS2 pupil with SEND on a 1:1 basis in a primary school.
• Implement positive behaviour strategies and maintain a calm, structured learning environment.
• Collaborate with the classroom teacher and wider school team to plan and deliver tailored activities.
• Monitor and record the pupil’s progress and adapt support as needed.

Required profile

• Previous experience supporting children with SEND on a 1:1 basis in a primary setting.
• Valid Team Teach qualification (essential).
• Confidence in managing challenging behaviour using positive approaches.
• Reliable, resilient, enthusiastic and nurturing attitude.

Required skills

• Team Teach qualification.
