About the role
We are seeking a passionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in an inspirational SEN school. You will work closely with class teachers to help the student manage emotions, behaviour and engage with learning across KS3‑5.
Key responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one support during lessons and throughout the school day.
- Assist the pupil in managing emotions and behaviour in classroom and school settings.
- Collaborate with teachers to tailor support to the pupil’s learning style and needs.
- Promote engagement and progress in academic tasks.
Required profile
- Supporting Teaching and Learning or childcare‑based qualification (desired).
- Experience working with children in UK schools.
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
- Resilient, proactive and positive attitude.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one) and two professional references covering the last two years.
Required skills
What we offer
- Hourly rate between £14.25 and £16.80.
- Full‑time position (Monday‑Friday) until July 2027.
- Temporary, fixed‑term contract.
- Immediate start date.
