1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant for Primary School (West London)

About the role

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to support a young boy with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in a mainstream primary school in West London. The role is full‑time during term time and offers the chance to develop expertise in inclusive education.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one support to the pupil, facilitating access to the curriculum and classroom activities.
• Implement individualized learning strategies and behaviour management plans.
• Collaborate with the class teacher and senior leadership to monitor progress and adjust support as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of the pupil’s development and communicate updates to relevant staff.

Required profile

• Minimum of one year recent SEN Teaching Assistant experience in the UK.
• Current safeguarding training completed within the last year.
• Right to work in the UK and an enhanced DBS with online update service.
• Two professional references covering the last two years.

Required skills

• Experience supporting pupils with ASD.
• Knowledge of safeguarding procedures.
